During my shoot with Reyna Cruz (Mexican singer, actress, radio host, & pastor) I met one of her parishioners Sergio Lopez. Sergio had a story that unfortunately is all too common.
Sergio came to the USA when he was five years old, brought by his parents in hopes of an education. However, his parents moved him and his family into the ghetto. Sergio became involved in gangs, drugs, and violent crime by the age of eleven and was eventually was shot in the face with a shotgun.
In Sergio’s case, immigration was not the answer.
